Contact: alcaraz.biffarella.catalano@gmail.com

This trio, which was formed in the year 2010 is formed by Gonzalo Biffarella, Gustavo Alcaraz and Julio Catalano. It focus in designing and programing interactive gestual controlled instruments. This instruments are the basic tools used in each musical composition.
The group has developed different projects around the concept of Memory. By investigating social and political reality in Latin American contexts they generate data bases. This bases are the begging of sound works that construct relations between reference materials, direct testimonies and digital re-elaborations. All this materials are captured in sound and multimedia art works, with both determined and improvised structures.

In the year 2013 a fire produced by inclement weather and human negligence burned over 100.000 hectares of forest in the hills located in Cordoba, Argentina.
By combining a visual tour through this forest turned into charcoal, in a unique, uncutted take, with a fragment of a Yupanquis’ song the base for this piece emerges.

Puzzle with 4 hands. Memory fragments

Interactive gestual controlled instruments.
Interactive videos (with two screens)

This piece is focused on the idea of keeping alive the memory of those who became “disappeared” in the last years of the Argentinian dictatorship.
One of the screens persistently shows images of people who perished, lots of them, under the San Roque Lake, 30km away from Cordoba City. The movement in their faces is controlled by the water movement in this lakes’ surface, which was registered for this project. The other screen elaborates different visual files related to this sad reality.
